At the start of Tuesday’s Shield of the Americas meeting, President Donald Trump asked twice where Secretary of State Marco Rubio was, despite Rubio having sat beside him for about 40 seconds. Rubio raised a finger to answer, drawing chuckles from the room.
Trump also joked that an aircraft carrier returning from Iran could drop Rubio in Cuba to handle things, saying he would “figure out the rest.” Earlier Tuesday, Trump predicted at the UN General Assembly that Cuba “will fall,” prompting the island’s delegation to walk out.
