Ron Dearing UTC submitted plans to convert office space at Hull’s The Maltings into a sixth-form centre and five classrooms. The plans are not expected to raise student capacity, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service; comments close on 8 October.
The proposed site would extend the existing campus in Kingston Square. The centre would include independent-study facilities, social and collaborative learning areas and a dedicated workspace. Minor internal changes, including screening and turnstile access, are planned; no external alterations are proposed.
The college has experienced sustained growth since opening in 2017 and remains oversubscribed, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service. It provides employer-led education for 14- to 18-year-olds, specialising in digital, engineering, and art and design.
