Jersey students in Years 4 to 12 can take the voluntary, anonymous 2026 Children and Young People’s Survey online from 5 to 16 October. For the first time, it will ask about social media and generative AI use, as well as health and school life.
The survey will also ask whether pupils have caring responsibilities and enough food each day. Statistics Jersey says the findings will inform Government of Jersey policy and service improvements. The final report, with a child-friendly version for schools, is due in spring 2027.
The last survey, in 2024, drew 4,360 participants, Statistics Jersey said. Response rates were 87% for Years 4 and 8, 84% for Years 6 and 10, and 78% for Year 12.
