The Hollywood Reporter says YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X declined paid ads for Alex Gibney’s upcoming film “Musk,” about Elon Musk; YouTube, TikTok and Meta cited “political content,” and Meta rejected distributor Bleecker Street’s appeal.
The trailer was released Thursday. Musk has called the film a “hit piece” and described Gibney as biased. Earlier this month, Musk’s attorney threatened a defamation lawsuit over debunked conspiracy theories about SpaceX’s Starlink satellites. HuffPost said it had sought comment from the platforms but received no response.
