Patrick Clancy reportedly used Reddit to seek advice about wife Lindsay’s mental health and medication in December 2022; he asked whether others had experienced thoughts of harming loved ones while taking medication. Lindsay is charged with killing their three children.
Posts dated Dec. 6–15 described Lindsay’s anxiety as mild before Patrick later wrote that she was severely depressed, numb and having suicidal thoughts. A Dec. 7 post written “for my wife” discussed Zoloft and a psychiatrist’s concern about signs of bipolar disorder; the article says Lindsay later moved to Ativan and Prozac. A postpartum depression program turned her away Dec. 20, saying she needed different treatment; she entered McLean Hospital Dec. 30 and was released Jan. 5. The account’s final post, on Jan. 23, asked about an app for an open house.
Jurors deadlocked with one holdout, and the judge declared a mistrial; a hearing is set for Sept. 29. Clancy is charged with murdering Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Her defense argued the killings were brought on by psychosis fueled by postpartum depression, wrong diagnoses and medications.
