USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports the Mariners are expected to decide manager Dan Wilson's future Monday, after the 2026 season concludes Sunday. Nightengale says Wilson could be fired; Seattle has missed the postseason and has one game remaining.
Nightengale also says Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto is under heavy scrutiny. Seattle came within one win of the World Series in 2025, but missed the playoffs in 2026 despite the AL West champion finishing below .500. The article says the Mariners bought at the trade deadline and saw players regress.
