Garoppolo, Zappe and Browning are possible Giants options after Dart injury

The New York Giants are considering quarterback options after Jaxson Dart’s left-knee injury ruled him out for the rest of 2026. They are reportedly exploring trades and could also consider free agents Jimmy Garoppolo, Bailey Zappe and Jake Browning.

Garoppolo is the most prominent name, and the Giants are reportedly interested in signing him. His last NFL start was for the Rams in 2024, when he threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns in a loss. Zappe has not played an NFL game since 2024 and has 12 career touchdowns against 14 interceptions. Browning threw 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions in seven starts in 2023; Tampa Bay released him months after signing him to a one-year deal in March.

Jameis Winston played most of the Giants’ 28-6 loss to the Rams, completing 40.7% of his passes with no touchdowns and one interception. The article says many consider him too mistake-prone to lead the team to the postseason.
