Renasant announced Aug. 25 that Catherine Mealor, a bank analyst for 23 years at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, will become CFO on Jan. 1, 2027. She joins Renasant Oct. 5 and succeeds Jim Mabry, who is moving toward retirement in early 2027.

Renasant’s board plans to nominate Mabry for election as a director at the 2027 annual meeting. During his tenure, the bank’s assets grew from $14 billion to $27 billion. In the second quarter of 2026, loans rose $220.9 million at a 4.7% annualized pace; nonperforming loans fell to 0.97% of total loans, coverage rose to 158.73% from 147.71%, and annualized charge-offs were 0.06%.

The same quarter, Renasant’s fully tax-equivalent net interest margin declined 4 basis points to 3.83%. Total deposits fell $398.4 million from the prior quarter, mostly because of seasonal public-fund outflows; noninterest-bearing deposits were down $145.4 million. Noninterest expense rose $6.2 million, which the article linked to deferred-compensation accruals, higher health-insurance claims and annual merit increases.
