The Red Sox moved Game 2 of Friday’s Cubs doubleheader up 30 minutes, from 6:05 to 5:35 p.m. EST, because of a storm expected to bring heavy rain and high wind gusts to the Boston area. The team said it made the change in consultation with MLB.
Game 1, originally scheduled for Sunday’s series finale, was moved to Friday and remains set for 1:05 p.m. Saturday’s finale is still listed for 7:15 p.m., but its start time and location remain fluid, and it could be moved to another venue. Both teams have clinched postseason berths, yet the series will determine their seeding.
