Archie and Lilibet had to change schools days after starting at their UK school, amid security concerns. The family’s private security team was understood to have raised concerns about the distance and heavy traffic on the school-run route. The Birmingham Games are scheduled for 10 to 17 July 2027, with 550 wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans from 25 nations expected to compete in 12 adaptive sports.
Asked what prompted the move, Harry said there were “lots of reasons” but did not elaborate. The family is awaiting a decision on taxpayer-funded UK security; Ravec is set to reconsider its level of police protection now they are full-time residents. The return comes amid tensions with the royal family: Harry and King Charles have had a strained relationship, and the couple were reportedly surprised by a letter authorised by the King that reiterated they are private citizens and gave senior government and military figures guidance on how to treat them.
