Met will re-examine Putney Bridge CCTV in Jill Dando's unsolved 1999 murder, citing image-enhancement advances. It includes an unidentified man running near the scene 20 minutes after the shooting; police say the review is not a new investigation or significant line of inquiry.
Dando was shot with a single bullet on the doorstep of her home in Fulham in April 1999. Barry George, a local man, was convicted of her murder and spent eight years in jail before being acquitted at a retrial in 2008.
The Met said the investigation had undergone numerous reviews over the 27 years since Dando's death to assess whether advances in technology and forensics could move the case forward.
