Photos taken Thursday showed beige makeup on Donald Trump’s right hand after he removed a black leather glove to shake Xi Jinping’s hand, suggesting he may have used it to cover bruising. The White House has not explained why he wore the gloves.
The White House has previously attributed bruising on Trump’s right hand to frequent handshaking and aspirin use. Trump told The Wall Street Journal in January that he took 325 milligrams of aspirin daily and had done so for 25 years; the article says doctors had advised him to lower the dose. He said applying the makeup takes about 10 seconds.
