Phillies say Luis Arraez has ankle sprain, X-rays are negative

Luis Arraez left Philadelphia’s 5-1 loss to Milwaukee Thursday after going down while reaching first base. Manager Don Mattingly said Arraez has a left ankle sprain, X-rays were negative and more will be known Friday; he is hopeful Arraez can play in the postseason.

Mattingly said the Phillies would treat Arraez’s ankle Thursday night and assess how he walks the next day.

Since joining Philadelphia at the trade deadline, Arraez had hit .283/.314/.376 with 21 RBIs.
