The Baltimore Orioles missed the playoffs for a second straight season, and Pete Alonso called the team’s overall performance “unacceptable” on Friday. He said players must do better next year after Baltimore fell short despite strong individual performances.
Alonso is in his first season with Baltimore after signing a five-year deal last offseason. He currently leads the American League with 41 home runs, 110 RBIs and 159 games played, and has an .871 OPS.
Alonso said players must deliver on the field even with coaching and information available. Baltimore is focused on finishing the current season strongly.
