Barry Diller’s People Inc. has withdrawn its proposal to take MGM Resorts International private, ending its June offer to buy the shares it does not own for $48.30 each in cash. People Inc. already holds about 27% of the company.
Diller said the proposal’s elements were not coming together as hoped. He said People Inc. remains open to a strategic transaction with MGM and is confident in its management and prospects.
