Penguins visit Columbus tonight for their third preseason game, beginning a two-game road stretch that ends Saturday. The game roster does not include the team’s big names; Sergei Murashov is the only notable goalie selected and is expected to play all 60 minutes.
Most of Pittsburgh’s opening-night lineup is already set, but several spots remain available. The regular season begins in six days, when the Penguins are scheduled to face the Philadelphia Flyers.
On Wednesday, Pittsburgh sent six defensemen to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and loaned defenseman and 2026 draft pick Tomas Galvas back to his Czech club. Goaltender Taylor Gauthier was cut from camp and is to be placed on waivers and assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
