Bo Bichette said he has had little contact with former Blue Jays teammates since joining the Mets, answering, “Honestly, not much.” He said they are busy playing baseball. The Mets have been eliminated from the playoffs; Toronto is close to missing a berth.
Bichette signed a three-year, $126 million contract with the Mets earlier this year, and an opt-out decision is looming. Toronto Sun writer Dan Bilicki reported that Bichette’s .263 batting average was the second-lowest of his career and that he was on pace for career lows in hits, doubles and home runs in seasons with more than 81 games.
