On the season 5 premiere of “Special Forces,” contestant Oliver Hudson said his famous family leaves him wrestling with comparison and insecurity. He feels pressure to achieve more so his mother, Goldie Hawn, and family will be proud of him.
Hudson is one of 14 celebrities competing on the FOX show, whose challenges are inspired by the real-life U.S. Special Forces selection process. He said his family motivated his decision to compete.
In 2024, Hudson said on the “Sibling Revelry” podcast he co-hosts with Kate that he sometimes felt unprotected as a child when Hawn was away working or had new boyfriends he disliked. He later clarified that he was describing his childhood perception, not his current view of Hawn as a parent, and said he loves and deeply respects her.
