The Oklahoma City Comets beat the Las Vegas Aviators 5-2 in Thursday’s decisive Game 3 at Las Vegas Ballpark, taking the Pacific Coast League Championship Series 2-1. They will face the Rochester Red Wings in the Triple-A National Championship on Saturday.
Ryan Fitzgerald’s RBI double put Oklahoma City ahead in the second inning, and Mike Sirota and Alek Thomas added runs in the third. The Comets scored twice more in the eighth; Brayan Buelvas’s two-run homer cut the lead, but OKC retired the final six Aviators batters.
Oklahoma City’s sixth Triple-A championship is its second in four years; the team also won in 2023. Saturday’s final against International League champion Rochester starts at 9:05 p.m. CT at Las Vegas Ballpark and will air on MLB Network.
