Northwestern fell 29-23 to No. 5 Indiana despite a second-half push, after early mistakes and defensive struggles. Aidan Chiles threw for 293 yards and accounted for three all-purpose touchdowns, but the Wildcats allowed 472 total yards.
Luke Dehnicke posted a season-high 140 receiving yards on seven catches, including a 41-yard grab. Chiles completed five of 10 passes for 56 yards in the first half, then led three scoring drives after halftime; he converted a fourth-and-goal play with a dislocated finger.
Northwestern gave up 271 rushing yards, including 203 to Indiana backup Lee Beebe Jr.; 144 of Beebe's yards came in the fourth quarter. The Wildcats managed 53 rushing yards: Joseph Himon II had zero on two carries, Caleb Komolafe gained 10 on six, and Gavin Sawchuk had 26 on five.
