Notre Dame beat Purdue 49-10 in the Shillelagh Trophy rivalry, taking a 35-0 lead into halftime. Quarterback CJ Carr completed 14 of 22 passes for 237 yards, three touchdowns and his first interception of the season, and added a rushing score.
Drayk Bowen returned a fumble forced by Bryce Young for a Notre Dame touchdown. Purdue managed a third-quarter field goal, then scored its only touchdown with six seconds left while Notre Dame's backups were in the game.
After a four-play opening possession, Notre Dame scored touchdowns on each of its next four offensive drives. Micah Gilbert had two catches for 86 yards and a touchdown; in the fourth quarter, freshman Noah Grubbs led an 87-yard drive ending with Matt Jeffrey's four-yard touchdown catch.
