No. 5 Indiana beat 21-point underdog Northwestern 29-23 on Friday after the Wildcats rallied from a 12-0 halftime deficit and pulled within three late. Aidan Chiles threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns; Indiana outgained Northwestern 271-32 on the ground.
Indiana running back Lee Beebe Jr. rushed for 203 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries, including a 70-yard run that set up Josh Hoover's late touchdown. Northwestern's 42-yard field goal with 58 seconds left made it 29-23, but the Wildcats failed to recover an onside kick and could not get the ball back.
Northwestern tight end Luke Dehnicke had seven catches for 140 yards. Indiana quarterback Josh Hoover completed 19 of 29 passes for 201 yards and a touchdown.
