No. 10 Purdue swept Maryland in the teams’ Big Ten opener, winning the first two sets 25-16 and 25-22 before holding the Terrapins to nine points in the third. Maryland fell to 10-2 overall and 0-1 in conference, its first loss since Sept. 1.
Purdue led 47-27 in kills and hit .320, while Maryland hit .115, well below its .315 season average. Addy Tindal led Purdue with 15.5 points; Maryland’s top scorer, Brooklynne Brass, had 9.5, and Ava Brown led the Terps with eight kills.
Purdue extended its winning streak to six and improved to 8-2 overall and 1-0 in Big Ten play. This weekend, Purdue will face No. 6 Wisconsin, while Maryland will meet No. 18 Indiana.
