With the 49ers 2-0 despite receiver injuries, Niner's Noise writer Nick San Miguel says San Francisco should consider bringing back Jauan Jennings if he fails to become a viable target for Minnesota. Jennings had one target in Week 1 and missed Week 2 for personal reasons.
San Francisco signed veteran Brandin Cooks to its practice squad. De'Zhaun Stribling was injured in Week 1 and Demarcus Robinson in Week 2; San Miguel wrote that neither player should be out for the season.
Spotrac projected Jennings' market value before free agency at about three years and $67 million, but he agreed to a one-year, $8 million contract with Minnesota on May 11. He had asked San Francisco to trade him before the 2025 season. ESPN's Matt Bowen cited 55 catches and nine touchdowns for Jennings last season, and 975 receiving yards in 2024.
