Newly released Miami bodycam footage shows an officer aiming a Taser at Paige Bueckers as she held teammate Arike Ogunbowale during Ogunbowale’s March 5 arrest. Ogunbowale was accused of punching a nightclub security worker; the misdemeanor charge was dismissed in May.
The footage is timestamped 4:16 a.m. and shows Bueckers repeatedly saying, “We got her.” An officer tells her to let Ogunbowale go and points the Taser at her face; the camera then turns away. When it returns, Ogunbowale is handcuffed and being taken to a police vehicle.
According to a police incident report, Club E11EVEN said Ogunbowale punched a security staffer in the face with a closed fist after staff were ushering her group out following an altercation. She was released on a $1,000 bond after being charged with misdemeanor battery. The charge was dismissed after a May hearing; her attorney said prosecutors had chosen not to proceed.
