Permit denials delayed Energy Transfer’s Green Chile pipeline from Aug. 15 to Feb. 1, 2027. Bloomberg reported that Oracle issued a force majeure notice to the developer of Project Jupiter, Oracle’s AI campus, leaving Bloom Energy’s fuel-cell delivery timing uncertain.
The 17-mile line is planned to connect Energy Transfer’s Transwestern Pipeline with the data-center complex, supplying 400 million cubic feet of natural gas a day. The New Mexico State Land Office denied right-of-way permits across state trust lands after local environmental groups opposed the project; Bloom’s fuel cells for Jupiter are designed to use gas from the line.
Bloomberg reported the notice went to Stack Infrastructure, a Blue Owl Capital unit, and was intended to protect Oracle from potential cost increases and delay payments if the campus misses its planned 2028 start; Oracle remains committed. Oracle initially contracted 1.2 GW of fuel-cell capacity for Jupiter, within its partnership with Bloom to deploy up to 2.8 GW. CEO K.R. Sridhar said Bloom’s 2026 guidance does not depend on one project and the company expects new projects to offset delays; Bloom can shift equipment to other customers and has contract protections.
