Motorola is bringing its Signature 27 flagship to North America, unlike the previous model. Executive Nicole Hagen cited feedback from customers, media and analysts, and U.S.-registered Signature phones bought abroad. No launch date or other specs are public.
Motorola says the phone will launch globally this year. Disclosed camera hardware includes a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 910 main sensor and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. Hagen said one major camera-testing round showed it outperforming the Razr Fold, while further work remains; she expects an exceptional DxO result. Motorola is also partnering with Bang & Olufsen on audio for premium devices.
Hagen said Motorola had its best-ever quarter by revenue last quarter, up 15% year over year, with most of that growth driven by premium products.
