Motley Fool model sees AMD possibly reaching $3 trillion by 2030

Motley Fool

AMD crossed a $1 trillion market value on Sept. 21. The Motley Fool argues it could reach $3 trillion by 2030 if earnings grow 66% in both 2029 and 2030 and shares trade at 34 times earnings.

AMD’s Q2 2026 results were mixed: data-center revenue rose 107% year over year to $6.7 billion and client revenue climbed 23% to $3.1 billion, while gaming revenue fell 31% to $779 million as semi-custom console-chip sales weakened. Mercury Research estimated AMD’s client CPU share at 30.3%; its server CPU share reached 34.5%, up 7.2 percentage points year over year. The article says Microsoft and Sony will use AMD processors in their next consoles; launches by the end of 2027 are rumored.

The model starts with analyst-estimated 2028 earnings per share of $22.27 and assumes 66% growth in each of the next two years, yielding projected 2030 EPS of $61.37. A 34-times earnings multiple would imply a share price of $2,086, or 3.3 times the price at publication. AMD estimates the AI-compute market could reach $2 trillion by 2030 and grow at a 40% compound annual rate over the long run.
