After Elon Musk said SpaceX would use Nvidia’s Vera Rubin hardware exclusively, The Motley Fool’s analysis names Nvidia the better buy looking toward 2028, citing a lower estimated sales multiple. SpaceX is growing quickly but reported an operating loss.

SpaceX owns xAI, maker of Grok, and turned to Nvidia for the computing power xAI requires. In Q2, SpaceX revenue rose 92% year over year to $7.8 billion, while its AI division’s revenue increased 213%; the company recorded an operating loss of about $143 million. Nvidia revenue rose 106% to $96.2 billion, including $63.7 billion in operating income.

The article’s 2027 comparison puts Nvidia at 14.5 times forward earnings and 8.1 times next year’s sales. Analysts estimate SpaceX will generate $108 billion in revenue next year, implying 18.5 times sales; the article lists valuations of $5.5 trillion for Nvidia and $2 trillion for SpaceX. Author Keithen Drury says he holds Nvidia, and The Motley Fool discloses that it holds and recommends the stock.
