Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” has logged 520 weeks on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, a decade-long run. Luminate reports it sold just over 8,000 copies in the latest U.S. tracking period across vinyl, CD, cassette and digital downloads.
Jackson had four albums on the Top Album Sales chart this week. Number Ones climbed from No. 17 to No. 10, while Off the Wall rose to No. 30 and Bad to No. 35. Number Ones has spent 231 weeks on the chart.
On five other Billboard charts, Thriller ranked No. 2 on Vinyl Albums, No. 3 on Top R&B Albums, No. 5 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and No. 22 on Top Streaming Albums, where it has logged 25 weeks. Metallica’s self-titled album has the Top Album Sales chart’s longest run this week, at 764 weeks.
