On Sept. 25, Mark Consuelos said on Live with Kelly and Mark that he was heading into surgery after the show for a painful, arthritic big toe, after putting off the procedure for about a year. He did not disclose what the operation would involve.
Consuelos previously said years of playing soccer led to turf toe and described the condition as arthritic. He also said he had surgery on his left foot years earlier. On Friday, he called the new procedure “major” after Kelly Ripa joked it was “basically” a pedicure.
PEOPLE reported, citing a source, that Consuelos would not take time off from the weekday show. Viewers were told they could hear more about the surgery on Monday.
