Meta unveiled the Muse Charm, a keychain-sized device for real-time voice interaction with its Muse AI without opening a phone or app, at its Sept. 23 Connect event. Mark Zuckerberg said it is still being finalized and is expected to ship in December.
Users tap a fingerprint sensor to start speaking, and a screen displays the Muse avatar. Zuckerberg said the charm could also let users show Muse what is happening around them. Meta also unveiled VR glasses priced at $1,299, with shipping expected in spring.
On Sept. 8, Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon announced he was leaving after three years training emerging AI models and warned that self-improving AI could pose an existential threat. Anthropic team lead Evan Hubinger agreed that AI could kill all humans and said he personally believed the chance was greater than 10% within the next decade.
