Meta’s VR Glasses are due in spring 2027 at $1,299.99 and need no controllers. A tether links the 100-gram frames to a puck clipped to a pocket or bag strap; the puck holds the processor, storage and a battery rated for up to three hours of high-resolution media playback.
The frames house micro-OLED displays, cameras and speakers; eye tracking, hand gestures and voice provide input. Meta says its 5K display delivers 37 pixels per degree, compared with about 25 on Quest 3. Meta did not publish a field-of-view figure; demo specifications circulating around the announcement put it at roughly 70 degrees horizontally by 66 vertically, but the company did not confirm those figures.
Meta says Disney+ will arrive on the platform in November in select countries with 3D Marvel and Star Wars films. The company also says it will carry more than 100 immersive live sports events a year through ESPN, TNT Sports, NBC Sports, MLB and UFC, in 8K, 180-degree views; those immersive feeds require cooperation from the leagues.
