UCLA routed Maryland 54-3 at home in the Terps' Big Ten opener on Saturday, leaving them 2-2 for the first time since 2019. Quarterback Malik Washington threw four interceptions, two returned for touchdowns, as the Bruins ran for 266 yards.
UCLA running back Wayne Knight gained 100 yards on 10 carries, including a 45-yard touchdown that opened the scoring. The Bruins scored three rushing touchdowns in the first half; Maryland had negative rushing yards on 16 carries in that half.
Maryland was penalized six times for 60 yards, including four penalties in the second quarter; facemask calls aided two UCLA touchdown drives. The Terps recorded one sack and two tackles for loss, while UCLA had seven tackles for loss.
