Marie-France van Heel, wife of UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham, has left her Be.EV chief customer officer post but will remain on its board as an adviser. The Observer reported she made the move to support her husband at domestic and international events.
Van Heel accompanied Burnham to the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York earlier in the week. She met Olena Zelenska, wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky; Zelenska said they discussed support for Ukraine, the Global Coalition for Ukrainian Studies and plans for a Ukrainian Week in the UK later this year.
Burnham’s office said he had already recused himself from any decisions relating to EV charging.
