Resale tickets for Macklemore’s Oct. 22 solo show at Colorado’s Red Rocks start at $220 for general admission; Ticketmaster lists only resale tickets. Demand surged following the controversy, while tickets for Ed Sheeran’s Philadelphia show were available for $68.
The Red Rocks show was first announced in March. Macklemore said earlier this month he had been fired from Sheeran’s Loop tour over pro-Palestine comments at an earlier gig. He also claimed Kraft Group CEO Robert Kraft personally called Sheeran to say Macklemore would not be allowed to perform at Gillette Stadium.
Sheeran said he would not be drawn into a public debate about the Gaza war and described Macklemore’s removal as “the promoter’s decision.” Sheeran’s other opening acts withdrew, and protesters gathered outside his first concert without Macklemore last week.
