Four pedestrians were injured in a hit-and-run on Vaughan Way in Leicester. Police arrested a 38-year-old man, who remains in custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving over the alcohol limit and causing grievous bodily harm.
The collision happened at 22:12 BST on Saturday as people crossed Vaughan Way towards the junction with Highcross Street. Police said the silver vehicle failed to stop. Three men were taken to hospital with serious injuries; a fourth walked away and was not taken to hospital.
Police said a vehicle believed to be involved has been identified and inquiries are continuing. Vaughan Way, which was closed during inquiries, has reopened. Officers are seeking witnesses and anyone with relevant dashcam footage.
