Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus says the Lakers could trade Jarred Vanderbilt to Dallas for P.J. Washington if they decide they need a power forward. Washington, a former Luka Dončić teammate, has an $88 million Mavericks contract; the swap remains a proposal.
Pincus described Washington as a willing role player, defender and shooter, but said his three-point accuracy is below the Lakers’ preference. He also wrote Dallas might accept Vanderbilt’s $13.3 million player option for 2027-28 to move off Washington’s longer deal.
The Lakers pursued Jonathan Kuminga during the summer, but he agreed to a two-year, $13 million deal with Minnesota that includes a player option, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported. The Athletic’s Dan Woike, citing team sources, said Los Angeles continued to monitor the big-man market and had a full roster.
