Kentucky beat the ninth-ranked Aggies 31–21 on Saturday, with CJ Baxter scoring twice and Jason Patterson adding 58 rushing yards on six carries. Baxter had 87 yards, while Patterson averaged 9.7 per carry, highlighting Kentucky’s emerging backfield tandem.
Baxter has scored all four of Kentucky’s rushing touchdowns this season. His two scores against the Aggies were his second multi-touchdown game, after the season opener against Youngstown State. Patterson leads the Wildcats with 189 rushing yards on 28 carries, averaging 6.8 yards per carry, seventh among SEC players.
Head coach Will Stein said on his Wednesday radio show that Patterson’s many reps have helped him feel “extremely competent” in Kentucky’s system. The Wildcats’ next opponent is 2–1 South Alabama.
