FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt said Arch Manning has not been impressive overall after three games and must take the next step by playing well on the road and anticipating throws. No. 1 Texas (3-0) visits No. 14 Tennessee (3-0) in Knoxville on Saturday.
Manning has thrown for 661 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions this season. Klatt said Manning’s final three drives against Ohio State were “more gritty than excellent” but got the job done; he said the quarterback had not been impressive otherwise.
Klatt also said Texas is better at the line of scrimmage, particularly in the run game, than a year ago. He said if that shows against Tennessee, the team would be fine and Manning would have a good game. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET on ABC.
