Vincent Kehoe, 21, was taken into custody in Westchester after his Lexus continued a Chicago-area police chase on three wheels when a wheel came off near Mannheim Road. Berkeley police charged him with two felony counts of aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude.
Berkeley officers tried to stop the Lexus at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday after seeing multiple traffic violations, police said. The chase crossed I-290 and local roads. Officers deployed a tire-deflation device, but the Lexus kept going before stopping on a residential street near Canterbury Street and Boeger Avenue.
Police said the Lexus was also wanted in a separate fleeing-and-eluding incident in DuPage County. NBC Chicago reported that Kehoe was on pretrial release in a Cook County fleeing-and-eluding case. The reporting did not specify the conduct underlying the two new felony counts or establish Kehoe’s current detention status or next court date.
