Kari Lake said Wednesday on Newsmax that noncitizen voter-roll registrations should not be dismissed as mere mistakes. Reuters reported more than 30,000 self-declared noncitizens may have been added to voter rolls since 2000, but could not determine how many voted.
Lake is deputy CEO of the U.S. Agency for Global Media. Reuters said software glitches and clerical errors tied to driver’s-license and state ID applications may have caused the entries; experts viewed the documented numbers as too small to affect election outcomes.
Lake claimed voter rolls contain “hundreds of thousands, millions” of people who should not be listed and alleged fraudulent ballots are attached to those registrations. Separately, she said CNN had not practiced straight news for decades, accused it of unfair coverage and releasing classified information that she said damages national security, and said its recognizable brand offered a chance to rebuild.
