Republican National Committee Chair Joe Gruters defended Donald Trump’s “golden age” claim despite high living costs, urging Americans to give the president more time to address economic concerns. He said the Iran war “will come and go.”
Gruters said on NewsNation Wednesday that defending the country was Trump’s top job and described the U.S. as amid a “great American comeback.” The war began at the end of February and, though initially expected to last only a few weeks, has continued, raising fuel prices as Americans also face inflation and high mortgage rates.
Gruters’s appeal comes ahead of November’s midterm elections, in which Republicans may lose some of their congressional power.
