Jensen's 27 home runs already set a Royals rookie franchise record. His five RBIs Friday were a career high, delivered over three at-bats that tied the game each time.
Matthews' 8,000th call was scheduled for Friday's game against Cleveland at Kauffman Stadium; the tally was identified after 86.6% of the possible scorebooks in Royals history had been counted. Cameron, making his final start of the year, said he had made bad pitches and needed to execute better in important situations.
