After the Sparks dismissed Lynne Roberts following a 16-28 season and another playoff miss, Jemele Hill urged Los Angeles to hire Teresa Weatherspoon, saying the team needs a coach players will trust who can build a winning culture.
Weatherspoon is a Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer who played for the New York Liberty and finished her WNBA playing career with the Sparks in 2004. She spent four years as an assistant with the New Orleans Pelicans, later coached the Chicago Sky and now leads Vinyl BC in Unrivaled.
