The Red Sox will meet the Yankees in the Wild Card Series, but Mickey Gasper is likely done for the season after a significant biceps injury on a swing in the first game of yesterday’s doubleheader. Chad Tracy said Gasper will see more doctors before a final conclusion.
The Red Sox-Cubs finale was moved to Tampa and is scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Trop, but it remains a Boston home game. Rays staff will produce it with a Fenway feel, including “Sweet Caroline” during play and, if the Red Sox win, “Dirty Water” and “Tessie” afterward.
Alex Bregman nearly missed the Red Sox series because of a facial fracture. He said he wanted to make it back to play at Fenway, which he called special.
