Jamie Stone says she underwent revision rhinoplasty in Istanbul 10 years after her first operation left her unhappy and with breathing problems. She said her surgery involved donor cartilage and turbinate reduction, and that she could breathe again afterward.
Stone said her first rhinoplasty cost $17,000. U.S. doctors quoted about $30,000 for revision surgery; after researching and consulting doctors, she chose Dr. Selim Turan in Istanbul.
Stone said her cast came off six days after surgery and that it could take three to six months for her nose to begin showing its actual shape. In a Sept. 22 update, more than a month after the procedure, she said she no longer needed tape during the day but still wore tape and a retainer at night.
