Iowa beat No. 18 Michigan 20-19 on Saturday when Hank Brown threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Reece Vander Zee with no time left, capping a 91-yard drive. Michigan had led 19-14 after Bryce Underwood hit JJ Buchanan for a 49-yard TD.
Michigan led 10-7 at halftime after Braeden Jackson tied the game with a 99-yard kickoff return for Iowa. The Wolverines settled for a field goal on one first-half red-zone possession and turned the ball over on downs on another; a third-quarter drive also ended in a field goal.
The loss left Michigan 3-1 overall and 0-1 in Big Ten play; Iowa improved to 4-0 and 1-0. Michigan is scheduled to visit Minnesota on Saturday, Oct. 3, at noon on Fox.
