Blake Snell allowed one run on five hits over four innings in his first start since leaving a game with left-groin tightness. The Dodgers beat the Giants 4-3 for their 99th win, planning a short outing to prioritize Snell’s health for the playoffs.
Snell had thrown only one inning in the previous two weeks. He finished the regular season with 42⅔ innings and a 1.90 ERA after missing time during a late spring-training buildup and undergoing arthroscopic surgery in May to remove loose bodies from his left elbow.
Manager Dave Roberts said Snell should be full-go for the playoffs. The Dodgers’ six-to-eight-day break could line him up for Game 2 or 3 of the National League Division Series, but Roberts did not disclose the rotation order.
