Indiana’s 66-86 loss to Minnesota let Washington overtake the Fever, changing the WNBA playoff bracket: Caitlin Clark’s team now opens against Las Vegas, while Angel Reese’s Atlanta Dream face the Washington Mystics. They can meet only in the Finals, if both advance.
To reach the Finals, the Fever must beat the Aces and then the winner of the Golden State Valkyries-Dallas Wings series. The Dream would next face either the Minnesota Lynx or New York Liberty if they get past the Mystics.
Reese said in a 2025 interview that she and Clark had competed against each other since around eighth or ninth grade, and that neither had hard feelings toward the other.
